Ladu Baba Temple is located at Saranakul, Nayagarh district of Odisha. Baba Ladukeshwar is worshipped in this temple. There is a Shiv Ling in this temple, popularly known as Baba Ladukeshwar, Ladu Baba.

History of The Temple

The temple was built over 1000 years ago. There are other temples within the temple complex, including Durga Mandapa, Angad Murti, Lord Rama, Laxman, Mata Sita, Bada Thakur, Laxmi Mandir, Dasa Mahavidya Navagraha, and Surya Mandir, which are worshipped here. This temple was built in the Rekha temple style in the 19th century by Jagadeb Ranendra.

Rituals of The Temple

The rituals and festivals of this temple are almost similar to those of the Lingaraj Temple. The temple is dedicated to saints. The temple is a blend of Vaishnavism, Shivaism, and saints. Therefore, devotees from all over the state and outside the state come to worship this temple. Many festivals are celebrated in the temple, of which Pana Sankranti, Jhulana Yatra, Sitalasasti, Dola Yatra, Shivaratri, Durga Puja, and Kali Puja are the famous festivals.

Mahashiv Ratri is celebrated in the month of Magha and is the main festival of the temple. A large number of devotees gather here on Mahashiv Ratri.

Uniquely, Shiva and Vishnu are worshipped in the temple. The temple is known for its combined worship of Hari-Hara (Vishnu-Shiva). Devotees also worship both the deities with utmost devotion.

The temple has its huge, prominent pond. The Chandan Yatra of Ladu Baba is performed inside this pond.

Rules of Temple

  • Taking photos inside the temple is strictly prohibited.
  • Special parking spaces have been created for vehicles, for which no fee will be charged.
  • If you perform a special puja, you may have to pay a small fee for it.
  • There is also a prasad service at the temple, but you have to inform in advance.

To reach the temple, we can take a bus or a train.

  • The nearest bus stop is Raj-Ranpur, its distance will be about 12 km from the Sharankula Ladu Baba Temple.
  • Nayagarh railway station is about 19 km away from the temple. You can also come there if you want.

  • The distance from Bhubaneswar to the Ladu Baba temple is around 99 km by NH 16.

Since there is always some festival going on in the temple, you can visit this temple at any time of the year.

The temple is open every day from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM and closes at 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
