Being a student, this news can ruin anyone’s career because of the release of the UGC fake Universities list 2026. Students of these institutions face difficulties in their careers. Neither do they apply for any govt. jobs or any private sector jobs.
The UGC identifies 32 fake universities across 12 states in India. And as per the list, Delhi is at the top of the list. To avoid these fake institutions The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a warning to students and parents. Because the degrees are deemed to be invalid for employment and higher education. The UGC has clarified that these institutions are not recognised by the central or state Governments and the degree will not be valid.
The newly added reports show that 12 states in India have fake universities. They are Haryana, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Arunachal Pradesh, with one institution identified in each. The UGC is also warning about an entity operating in Bengaluru under the name Global Human Peace University, clarifying that it is not authorised to function as a university.

Delhi: A total of 12 of the 32 fake universities have been identified in Delhi.

The statutory body has issued a stern warning to parents and students; these institutions have no legal validity, and the certificates issued cannot be used for employment or higher education admission.
But the good news is that no Odisha university or college is included in this UGC Fake Universities list. This is good news for students and parents in the state.
