On Feb 20: For the academic year 2026-27, the Higher Education Department of Odisha notified the admission into the Four-year B.Ed. after 12th under the Integrated Teacher Education Programme.

In previously odisha government has declared that students can pursue a BEd degree after completing 12th through the Integrated Teacher Education Programme under the NEP. Before, students used to complete a 3-year graduation and then a 2-year BEd course. But odisha government started “With Integrated BEd, so that students can complete both degrees in four years and become Teachers. It is a dual-major undergraduate programme.

The degrees you earn from this course: in a 4-year integrated BEd, students can earn degrees in different honours bases.

Admission process for Four-year Integrated B.Ed.:

For an Arts student (BA BEd):

Combines an Arts degree (History, Geography, English, Odia, etc.) with teaching training. It is 4 year duration, and the degree you earn from this is B.A. B.Ed. also science and commerce backgrounds will do the course.

For a science student (BSc BEd):

It combines a science degree with Physics, Chemistry, Maths – PCM or Chemistry, Botany, Zoology – CBZ, with teaching training. The degree you earn from this is an Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. Eligibility for these course in you to complete your 12th with a science background.

And you earn other degrees like an Integrated B.Com, B.Ed, B.El.Ed, D.El.Ed from ITEP.

Exam Notification:

The exam will be conducted through the National Common Entrance Test, and it is organised by NTA. The notice issued by NTA on February 12, 2026, candidates can submit online applications for NCET-2026 till March 10. The exam will be held on April 17 in CBT mode. The admission shall be based on the NCET scores. It will be offered in five public universities and eight government colleges. Total 1,300 seats are available.

Exam Fees: NCET 2026 exam fees for General (UR) candidates: Rs 1200, OBC: Rs 1000 and for SC, ST, Pwd: Rs 650.

Eligible candidates will be required to apply through the SAMS portal by selecting their preferred institutions. Merit lists will be prepared based on NCET percentile scores.
